Frequently asked questions

Everything about how quickfilezap works, what happens to your files, and how billing works.

Getting started

No. You can convert and download up to 2 small files a day (each up to 3 MB) for free, with no account. An account is only required for the $2 single-use option and for Pro, so your files can be saved to you.

PDF, Word (DOC/DOCX), Excel (XLS/XLSX), PowerPoint (PPT/PPTX), JPG, PNG and TXT — in the common directions people actually need, like PDF to Word, Word to PDF, PDF to image, and image to PDF.

Free conversions are limited to 3 MB. The $2 single-use plan supports files up to 25 MB. Pro supports files up to 2 GB.

We aim for the closest possible match, but file conversion isn't a perfect science — complex layouts, tables, and unusual fonts can shift, especially converting into or out of PowerPoint. We don't do OCR, so text inside scanned or image-only PDFs won't be extracted. Always review the output before relying on it.

Privacy & security

No. Every conversion runs through deterministic, self-hosted software (LibreOffice and Poppler) on our own servers — never an AI model, and never a third-party conversion API. Your documents are never read by, or used to train, any AI system.

Yes. Every connection to quickfilezap.com is encrypted end-to-end with HTTPS/TLS, and your session cookie is marked HttpOnly and Secure.

Traffic to and from our servers is fully encrypted. Stored files are access-controlled — every download requires a signed, time-limited link — and are automatically deleted on the schedule for your plan (see below). We're evaluating full at-rest encryption as a future improvement; today, deletion timing and access control are what protect a file once conversion is done.

No. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use your files to train any model. We share only what's necessary with the services that run quickfilezap — Google (sign-in), Stripe (payments), and Hostinger (hosting) — each governed by their own privacy policy. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Files & retention

Free conversions: deleted about one hour after conversion. Single-use ($2): kept for 30 days, then deleted. Pro: kept for as long as your subscription is active.

Yes — from your library, any saved file has a delete button that removes it immediately, ahead of its normal retention schedule.

Sharing & signatures

Yes. Any file saved to your library (Single-use or Pro — Free conversions aren't saved, so there's nothing to share) has a Share button. Enter a recipient's email and we send them a secure link — they don't need a quickfilezap account to open it.

Yes, for PDFs. Toggle 'Request a signature' when you share — the recipient draws their signature right in the browser (no DocuSign account needed), and we add a signed confirmation page to the PDF with their name, email, and the date. You'll see the share's status update to Signed in your library.

No. The link works for anyone, on any device — they just draw their signature and submit. You get notified by email once it's signed.

Billing

Free is unlimited use at small sizes, nothing saved. Single-use is a one-time $2 payment for one larger conversion, saved for 30 days. Pro is a subscription for unlimited conversions, files up to 2 GB, and a permanent library.

Yes. Cancel anytime from your billing portal — you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.

Except where required by law, fees are non-refundable — see our Terms of Service for the full billing terms.
